Recently, the Ministry of Education promulgated the general office of the Ministry of Education released about 2021 national and provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction point notice hall letter [2022] no. 14 (superior), the institute of Marine science and engineering safety engineering to be included in the national first-class undergraduate professional construction point, selected first-class undergraduate specialty construction of Shanghai environmental engineering. At the same time, the Higher Education Teaching Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education and the China Association for Professional Certification of Engineering Education issued a document announcing the certification conclusion of the 2021 engineering education certification. Safety engineering has passed the certification, and the validity period of the certification is 6 years.
In terms of specialty construction, ocean science and engineering college has ship and ocean engineering, safety engineering, 2 national first-class undergraduate professional construction point, port channel and coastal engineering, environmental engineering, 2 Shanghai municipal first-class undergraduate professional construction point, port channel and coastal engineering, safety engineering two passed the national professional engineering education professional certification. In addition, the major of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering, Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering, and Safety Engineering has been selected as the pilot construction major of Applied undergraduate program of Shanghai. The major of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering has been selected as the second batch of Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program of The Ministry of Education, and the major of Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering has become the highland of undergraduate education in Shanghai. The college has two national engineering practice education centers Port and Ocean Engineering and Ship and Ocean Engineering, as well as national and provincial talent training platforms such as Shanghai Municipal Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Port, Waterway and Ocean Engineering.
In terms of development philosophy, the School of Marine Science and Engineering has always adhered to the national strategy of becoming a Maritime power and becoming a transportation power. With student development as the center, the school has adhered to the fundamental concept of cultivating talents through virtue, and adhered to the integration of industry and education, constantly strengthening the Marine characteristics and deepening the connotation of major construction.
This time, safety engineering and environmental Engineering are selected as the first-class undergraduate major construction points, which will provide more powerful support for the improvement of talent training quality, teaching reform results and education mode innovation of the college. In the future, the college will continue to improve the system guarantee and incentive mechanism of professional construction, give full play to the radiation leading role of first-class majors, activate the vitality of professional construction of the college, and comprehensively improve the level of professional construction of the college.
