According to the course plan of the situation and Policy course of the College, the College of Marine Science and Engineering launched an online situation and politics course themed China's Shipping Routes and National Development through Tencent conference at noon on May 25, 2022. The course was lectured by Professor Li Jibin and attended by all undergraduates of the School of Marine Science and Engineering, Class of 2021.
In this course, Professor Li Jibin first analyzed and introduced the strategic thinking of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the important practice of the belt and Road Initiative. China has truly become a major shipping country in the world. The great achievements of China New Shipping Route in win-win cooperation and joint economic development are undeniable. However, there are still many areas to be improved in China's shipping industry. In order to become a shipping power, we must start from strengthening the construction of shipping culture, guide the formulation of national policies and specific systems with the values of a shipping power, attach great importance to the development of shipping education and personnel training, and comprehensively improve the soft power of shipping development.
Through this study, students have a deep understanding of setting up lofty ideals, improving their own quality, and consciously assume the responsibility of building a shipping power. We need to pay more attention to, understand and manage the oceans and strive for new achievements in building China into a maritime power.
