About the Speaker:

Dr. Tahsin Tezdogan is currently a faculty member in the fluid-structure Interaction section of the Department of Marine and Marine Engineering (NAOME), University of Clyde, UK.

Dr Tezdogan received his PhD from the University of Clyde in 2015 with his PhD thesis on Potential Flow and CFD Based Fluid Dynamics Analysis of monohull and multihull Ships.

Dr. Tezdogan has a wide range of research interests, including CFD simulations of ship motion and drag, wave-induced ship drag enhancement, and the study of ship motion characteristics and performance in waterways/canals.

Currently, Dr. Tezdogan is working as a researcher and participant in the EU-funded VENTuRE, MarLEM and GATERS projects.

To date, Dr. Tezdogan has published more than 45 papers in leading journals in the field and presented his research results at several international conferences and seminars.

In addition to that,

Dr. Tezdogan has also been featured in the Ocean Engineering Special Issue on CFD Applications in Ships and Offshore Structures and the Applied Ocean Research Special Issue

Guest editor of Ship Resistance, Seakeeping and Maneuverability in Confined Waters.

In April 2017, he was appointed associate editor of the Ocean Engineering journal.

In September 2017, Dr. Tezdogan was appointed to the ITTC Expert Committee in the direction of the Combined CFD/EFD Methodology for a term of four years.

Most recently, he was appointed to the ITTC Quality Systems Panel for a three-year term.

He is also a member of RINA and IMarEST.

Dr. Tezdogan has been a member of the Professional Affairs and Education Committee (PAEC) of the Institute of Ocean Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) since 30 May 2019.

Dr. Tezdogan has also been selected as a reviewer for the EU-Horizon 2020 program and as an evaluator for a number of Newton Fund calls.
