For a long time, the R & D team led by Professor Dong Lihua has always been thinking about what are the core technologies and key common technologies urgently needed by the country in promoting the transformation of marine economy. As early as 2011, Professor Dong Lihua, with the support of Shanghai plateau discipline construction, went to Ukraine for investigation, actively operated the research and development unit of the original ship plate of the Snow Dragon icebreaker, Baosteel Group and the university to carry out cooperation and exchange. Since then, the seeds of hope have gradually sprouted in the team. Being urgent for the needs of the country and building the needs of the country and building China's own icebreaker have become the constant struggle dream of the team. After more than ten years of efforts, the research on polar ship materials has been widely recognized by peers at home and abroad, and has become a new business card with bright characteristics.

In recent years, the team and Baosteel Co., Ltd. have successfully developed high-performance domestic low-temperature steel and supporting solder. Nearly 1000 tons of polar special low-temperature steel produced in batch has been successfully used in the construction of Xuelong 2, which has a significant impact inside and outside the industry. With the Shanghai far-reaching marine equipment material engineering technology research center and Shanghai heavy icebreaker key steel Collaborative Innovation Center successively approved and launched, the independent development of key materials for polar heavy icebreaker and the independent establishment of standard system will be gradually realized in the future, so as to completely solve the problem of neck sticking of key materials for major strategic projects in China, Promote the innovative development of advanced materials in Shanghai and lay the foundation of materials technology for realizing the dream of becoming a maritime power.

For more than ten years, I have cut through thorns and thorns

At the beginning of its establishment, the team faced the three noes dilemma of no teachers, no students and no laboratory. With the strong support of the University, the laboratory was gradually established and more than 30 people were successively introduced. Under the leadership of Professor Dong Lihua, the scientific research team adjusted the research direction bit by bit and gradually unified from a variety of research backgrounds to the field of marine materials, Further focus on the research direction of polar ship materials with distinctive characteristics. Today's polar ship materials research team is strong and the echelon is reasonable. There are 33 researchers, including 20 party members, 8 professors (5 doctoral instructors) and 13 associate professors, accounting for 100% of the doctoral degree.

After more than ten years of unremitting efforts and persistent struggle, team members adhere to the same frequency resonance and mutual promotion between scientific research and talent training. He has successively presided over more than 30 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research tasks such as the first batch of key R & D projects of the 13th five year plan of the Ministry of science and technology, 973 projects, international cooperation and exchange projects of the Ministry of science and technology, and won 1 Natural Science Award of the Ministry of education, 1 scientific and technological progress award of the Ministry of education, 2 scientific and technological progress awards of Shanghai, 1 Natural Science Award of Shanghai and 2 innovation achievement awards of the State Oceanic Administration, Provide solid technical support for China's polar ship construction. The doctoral program of ship and marine engineering materials and the master program of materials and chemical engineering have been gradually established, and a complete training system of marine materials senior talents from undergraduate to doctoral has been formed, which provides a talent reserve for the industry to continuously export urgently needed professional and technical talents of marine materials and expand the national marine industry.

From generation to generation, we will start again, and now we will start from scratch

All the past is a prelude. The new era is full of meteorology, and the new journey has a long way to go. According to the outline of the national 14th five year plan development plan, carry out the construction of phase II of Snow Dragon polar exploration and tackle key problems in scientific and technological frontier fields such as heavy icebreakers. The team further focuses on the revolution and explores the innovative organization mode of 1 (major scientific and technological infrastructure cluster) + X (core scientist team) + n (major scientific and technological tasks), Focusing on the four aspects, large teams in the whole chain from basic research to industrialization work together to build a national marine science and technology strategic force with more comprehensive advantages and development vitality.

The assembly call to enter the polar region has been sounded in an all-round way. China's first heavy icebreaker will soon start selecting materials, but the technology for evaluating the comprehensive performance of materials is still lacking. The team will continue to maintain the advanced spirit and selfless sacrifice spirit, fill this gap as soon as possible, and provide material support for solving the major strategic needs of the country and improving the voice of China's polar affairs.
