In order to guide students to deeply understand the great significance of maritime power and earnestly implement the spirit of the 14th five year plan educational reform and development plan of Shanghai Maritime University, the college of ocean science and engineering recently held a situation politics course with the theme of China's air route and national sovereignty and security. The activity was presided over by counselor sun Hanfen, presided over by teacher Huang Yin, and participated by all 2021 students majoring in safety, environment and materials.
Focusing on the theme of China's air routes and national sovereignty and security, Mr. Huang Yin reviewed the issue of sea power in modern China, and then introduced the current situation of China's sea areas and marine facilities. Mr. Huang pointed out that China is a big maritime country, and building a powerful maritime country is an important part of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Marine civilization and the game of controlling the sea are hot topics in recent years. The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made a major deployment to build a marine power. The implementation of this major deployment is of great and far-reaching significance to promoting sustained and healthy economic development, safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests, realizing the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Through this situation politics class, the students deepened their understanding of the current situation of China's surrounding waters and maritime forces, and enhanced their sense of responsibility and mission in implementing the strategy of becoming a maritime power.
