On May 30, 2021, sponsored by the College of Ocean Science and Engineering, the paper boat load-bearing competition in 2021, Sailing and setting sail in honor of the dream was successfully held.

The paper boat load-bearing competition combined with the professional characteristics of the school. Students made the paper boat model by hand within the specified amount of paper, and then put it into the pool to compete on the load-bearing ability and load-bearing duration. This test not only tested their practical ability, but also tested their knowledge of mechanics in model making.

During the competition, the members of each group were clearly divided and did their assigned tasks, either folding the hull or assembling components. Through the competitors' flexible thinking and clever hands-on ability, the final products also have different style, not only the boat type is diverse, but also the internal structure has its own characteristics.

As they lowered their boats into the water with expectant eyes, they all watched the paper boats and discussed how best to place their weights, and if they didn't notice, their elaborate models would sink because they were misplaced or moved too much. Through the sharing of success and failure experience, we have gained more understanding of professional knowledge, and enhanced our practical ability, thinking ability and teamwork ability.
