Recently, the university-enterprise joint training program of Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) for the major of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, as well as off-campus practice and teaching activities, was carried out as scheduled in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering Co., Ltd., the harbor base of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard. This is Shanghai maritime university and waigaoqiao Marine engineering, in order to further deepen the implementation of university-enterprise in talent training, teacher training, a creative practice in aspects of enterprise services, and actively implement the free trade zone in Shanghai lingang new area of personnel training related to planning, form a new area of colleges and universities directly for new training professional talents for enterprise model, It is a useful exploration to build the model of deep cooperation between schools and enterprises in the new area.

A total of 67 students from Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering majors participated in this off-campus practice of Shanghai Maritime University. Waigaoqiao Marine attaches great importance to the event, in order to let the ship and ocean engineering students better able to complete the professional study and practice, practice internship for detailed planning in advance, select practice experienced engineering and technical experts, and implementation of teacher and pupil teaching system, undertake to the student about the shipbuilding process training, enterprise culture, etc.

Through observation, study and practice, students strive to combine theoretical study with on-site practice, understand and master the shipbuilding process at various levels and in all aspects, feel the atmosphere of the rapid development of China's shipbuilding industry, and set up a correct world outlook, outlook on life and values.

Through university-enterprise cooperation, students' professional knowledge and skills will be comprehensively tested, and students will be guided to seek true knowledge and practice true skills. Students will have a better understanding of the future development direction of their major, make clear their career planning, and enhance their sense of responsibility and mission in participating in the building of a maritime power.
