On May 19, 2021, all the students in the grade of 2020 of the College of Marine Science and Engineering carried out the situation and policy education course with the theme of The Historical Course of China's Marine Civilization and the Development of Seaways. This course will be lectured by Mr. He Haibo.
In this course, Mr. He Haibo narrated in the context of history. First of all, Mr. He pointed out the advantages of China's development of Marine civilization: natural endowment and humanistic quality; Starting from history, from pre-Qin to Qin and Han, the Three Kingdoms and Jin Dynasties to Sui and Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, Ming and Qing Dynasties, this paper describes the initial period, development period, heyday period and decline period of China's Marine civilization. Finally, through the development of Marine civilization, Mr. He related to the historical process of the development of shipping routes, and explained the open and inclusive maritime Silk Road that has lasted for thousands of years and the tortuous development of China's modern shipping industry.
In this study, the students took the history as the introduction to understand the tortuous development process of the Marine civilization in China from the beginning to the peak and then to the decline, and more deeply realized the charm of the Chinese Marine civilization. They also learned the tortuous process of the development of the China Sea Route and the development of the Maritime Silk Road, which stimulated the students' enthusiasm for the study of Marine culture.
