On March 10, 2021, Wang Xiangyu, the director of the Australia-Asia BIM Joint Research Center and the life-long chief professor of Curtin University in Australia, was invited to give a web-based conference entitled Towering towards the Engineering Brain: More than 220 teachers and students attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Professor Shi Danda, Dean of College of Ocean Science and Engineering.
Professor Wang Xiangyu introduced engineering brain from four aspects, including the background of engineering brain, theoretical framework of engineering brain, application of engineering brain and future prospect of engineering brain. First of all, Professor Wang Xiangyu systematically summarized and elaborated the development, application and classification of building digitization and engineering informatization. Then, Professor Wang demonstrated the application of engineering brain through the application cases of Chengdu Road Construction, Management and Maintenance Integration Platform and Fuzhou Subway Intelligent Construction Management Platform.
After the lecture, teachers and students actively interacted with professor wang xiangyu, and professor wang gave detailed answers to the questions raised by everyone. The students expressed that they were looking forward to Professor Wang's next lecture.
