Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Selection of Outstanding Graduate Students of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering

The evaluation of the outstanding graduate students of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering should comprehensively examine the applicant's ideological and moral character, social practice, style of study, academic performance, scientific research achievements and other performance. According to the number of outstanding graduates of Shanghai Municipality and outstanding graduates of Shanghai Maritime University allocated by the school every year, the college will select the award-winning students of our school.

I. Scope and quota of selection

1. Full-time graduate students with official national higher education status. (Note: Full-time graduate students refer to those who have graduated according to the basic educational system, including doctoral students and master's students.)

2, each major selection quota: according to the school requirements and quota ratio, according to the number of majors will be allocated.

II. Basic conditions for selection

1. Love the motherland, have a firm and correct political direction, adhere to the Party's basic line, support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetics in an all-round way;

2. Abide by discipline and law, have excellent moral character, strong sense of integrity and good academic ethics, have not been disciplined during school, and have no bad credit record;

3. Completing all the studies in the teaching plan on time, diligent in learning, excellent in academic performance, active in social practice and volunteer services, with strong practice and innovation ability, outstanding in comprehensive performance, and certain prestige among classmates;

4. With correct employment outlook and career choice, the graduates who have responded to the call of the state to devote themselves to the cause of national defense and voluntarily go to the west, remote, poor areas and difficult industries to work at the grassroots level, key fields, emerging fields and international organizations will be recommended and selected preferentially;

5. The doctoral student should also meet one of the following conditions:

(1) At least 3 papers should be published in A-class journals recognized by the Academic Degree Assessment Sub-committee of the discipline. The first and second authors should be signed by the supervisor and students.

(2) To be awarded the second-class (inclusive) or above provincial-level scientific and technological achievement prize with the signature among the top five (inclusive);

(3) The first inventor (or the second inventor headed by the tutor) who has obtained the invention patent (authorization) related to the major.

6. Students who have any of the following conditions will not be awarded the title of Excellent Graduate :

(1) Absent from school or college activities without any reason, failing to comply with the rules, being criticized or punished in a notice;

(2) Record of academic misconduct;

(3) Other applicants who do not meet the selection criteria.

7. The following 2 requirements must be met for the recommendation of Shanghai Outstanding Graduate Students:

(1) It must meet the assessment standards for the title of Outstanding Graduate of Shanghai Maritime University;

(2) In principle, they should have obtained honors at the university level or above, or have made outstanding performance, achievements or contributions in a certain field.

III. Selection procedure

The College of Marine Science and Engineering will conduct extensive publicity and meticulous work. In line with the principle of openness, fairness and justice, it will earnestly do a good job in recommending and selecting outstanding graduate students.

1. The School of Marine Science and Engineering has established an evaluation group for outstanding graduate students. According to the spirit of relevant documents, it has formulated and publicized the implementation rules for the evaluation of outstanding graduate students, carried out the selection and publicity of outstanding graduate students, and organized graduate students to carry out the evaluation and application of outstanding graduate students in an orderly manner. The List of Evaluation Panel for Outstanding Graduate Students of the College of Marine Science and Engineering and the Implementation Rules for the Selection of Outstanding Graduate Students of the College of Marine Science and Engineering shall be submitted to the Comprehensive Department of the Graduate School for filing.

2. Students shall submit the written application to the graduate counselors and additional bonus materials to the graduate teaching secretariat within the deadline from the commencement of the application for outstanding graduate students announced by the school. The graduate teaching secretary will review and evaluate the students' academic performance, published papers, awards, etc. The graduate counselors will review and evaluate the students' ideological morality and participation in social practice. After examination and approval, the applicant who does not meet the requirements for declaration shall be given reasons in writing and the application shall be returned.

3. The graduate teaching secretary will pass the relevant materials to the graduate supervisor, who will evaluate the student's course learning and scientific research.

4. The selection list is reviewed by the evaluation group of outstanding graduate students of the School.

5. The School will publish the award list and publicize it, and report it to the Graduate School of the University after the announcement.

6. Students who have objections to the result of the selection of outstanding graduate students can apply for reconsideration to the evaluation panel of the college during the publicity stage of the college.

IV. Detailed rules for scoring

The selection of outstanding graduate students adopts the individual cumulative scoring system, and the total score is ranked from high to low.

The total score is the sum of the following individual scores (100 points in total) :

(1) Score of Ideology, Moral Character and Social Practice (20 points in total)

(2) Student community safety score (total 5 points)

(3) Score of study style and scientific research attitude (15 points in total)

(4) Academic score (total 30 points)

(5) Additional points (total of 30 points)

1, score explanation

The detailed rules for the evaluation are formulated in accordance with the relevant evaluation and reward methods of the university and the characteristics of the College of Marine Science and Engineering. In case of special circumstances or circumstances not mentioned in the rules, the review group will discuss and then decide by the Party and Government Joint Meeting of the School. If the total scores are equal, the selection list will be determined by the joint meeting of the Party and Government of the School.

2. Scoring criteria

(1) Ideology, morality and social practice

The evaluation of the ideological, moral and social practice program includes a political review and an interview. Political review mainly includes the review of the applicant's political attitude and daily performance, including but not limited to the state of mind, daily words and deeds. The comprehensive interview team is organized by the Student Affairs Office of the College. The team consists of deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the College, graduate counselors and other teachers from the student engineering departments. The team mainly examines the applicants' moral conduct, organizational discipline, collectivism concept, and social practice activities such as serving students and classes.

(2) Student community safety

The student community safety score is based on the assessment of safety and health bulletin published by the school apartment management department every week. The use of illegal electrical appliances to implement a veto system, directly cancel its qualification. 2 points for safety hidden danger and 1 point for hygiene unqualified. If the score is 0, the qualification for selection will be cancelled.

(3) style of study and attitude towards scientific research

Instructors score students' participation in projects, research and writing of dissertations, learning attitudes, etc.

(4) Academic performance

Academic score calculation formula: professional ranking score *30%

(5) Additional points

See the attached table for the detailed scoring standards of additional points. The cumulative score is capped at 30 points. If an outcome meets multiple scoring criteria, the maximum score will be taken. Results included in the statistical scope must meet the following conditions:

A. Shanghai Maritime University is the first signed unit and the graduate student is the first author, or the graduate student is the second author, and the supervisor (including the second supervisor) is the first author;

B. All the achievements must be obtained during the postgraduate study period, from the date of admission to the commencement of the selection of outstanding graduates;

C. Detailed results and copies of all bonus materials should be submitted. Since the original is impossible to be tested during the epidemic, the applicant must make a commitment to the authenticity of the results, and the supervisor will guarantee it.

D. Papers of foreign periodicals published abroad +G periodicals + software copyright <2 points.


Table 1: Score Criteria for Academic Papers (Unit: points/paper) (applicable to both 2017 and 2018 grades)

Description:

1. The accreditation standards of various periodicals shall refer to the relevant documents of Science and Technology Office; If there is any objection to the achievement classification, it will be ruled by the evaluation group of outstanding graduate students of the school.

2. Academic papers should be approved by the supervisor before submission. Academic papers without the consent of the supervisor are not allowed to be posted and published.

3. The academic papers included in the statistical scope must be published (or accepted) during the postgraduate study. Copy of the published papers is required for the published papers. Copy of the acceptance notice, copy of the publication fee invoice and the full text of the paper are required for the accepted papers.

4. All the paper results should be the original publication, and the supplement will be scored by two grades, and the F and G supplements will not be scored.

5. SCI/EI papers (A and B journals) should be provided with the certificate of check and citation issued by the Science and Technology Novelty Search Workstation of the library.

Description:

1. Intellectual property only counts the top two points. If it is an individual project, the student will enjoy the first score of the achievement. If it is a collaborative project, the graduate student is the second author, but his/her supervisor (including the second supervisor) is the first author, he/she will enjoy the score of the first author of the achievement. If he/she collaborates with others, the graduate student will get the corresponding ranking score.

2. The intellectual property included in the statistical scope must be scanned or electronic copy of the corresponding certificate provided by the graduate student.


Table 3: Score standard for publications (unit: minutes/ten thousand words) (applicable to both grades of 2017 and 2018)

Description:

Publications that are included in the statistics will receive total points if they are solo works by an individual. For collaborative monographs, scores will be given according to the number of words completed by an individual. Electronic or scanned copies of the cover of publications, copies of catalogues and other relevant supporting materials shall be provided.

Description:

1. The competition recognized by the Center for Academic DeGRE es and Graduate Education Development of the Ministry of Education refers to the theme competition of National Postgraduate Innovative Practice Series Activities, which has been carried out for graduate students nationwide since 2013 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, including: The national graduate students mathematical modeling competition, Chinese graduate students electronic design contest national graduate student wisdom city technology and creative design competition, Chinese graduate students in public management case competition national graduate mobile terminal applications design innovation contest Chinese graduate students future aircraft innovation contest China petroleum engineering design competition, Chinese graduate students oil equipment innovation design competition, China MPAcc students case competition, etc.

2. Shanghai that participate in the graduate employment rate in Shanghai race refers to Shanghai's annual Shanghai students average college graduates entering Shanghai job grading method stipulated in the competition, including national undergraduate electronic design contest the national college students' mathematical modeling competition, national college students' English contest national college students challenge cup competition, national college students' freescale cup 'smart car competition, such as national games (excluding local division).

3. The details of the above two categories are updated annually. If there is any change, the data released in the current year shall prevail.

4. Other competitions recognized by our school include: China Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry College Students Science and Technology Competition, China Refrigeration Society Innovation Competition, National College Students Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Technology Competition, College Students Transportation Technology Competition, Siemens Cup Made in China Challenge, National College Students Internet of Things Application Innovation Competition and so on.

5. If the competition included in the statistical scope is an individual award, it will be scored according to the ranking 1. If it is a team award, it will be scored according to the ranking, and only the top three will be counted.

6. The competition included in the statistical scope must be national awards, excluding regional competitions, and must provide a copy of the award certificate and other supporting materials.

Description:

The project mentioned in this document includes State-sponsored Overseas Study Graduate Program and all kinds of overseas postgraduate research and internship programs that are selected, dispatched and managed by our university or colleges and graduate supervisors. For relevant regulations, please refer to Administrative Measures of Overseas Graduate Research Program of Shanghai Maritime University.

Five, the other

(a) earned a graduate excellent graduate student, the graduate school before any disciplinary violations or dissertation failed and other conflict with the title of outstanding graduates graduate student's behavior, will cancel the title of outstanding graduates, the school reserves the right to recover honorary certificate and its corresponding awards;

(2) In addition to the cancellation of the result of selection, disciplinary actions will be taken against those who resort to deception or practice favoritism according to their circumstances.

Six, bylaw

The College of Marine Science and Engineering is responsible for the interpretation of these Rules. Other matters not mentioned in the detailed rules are subject to the discretion of the evaluation panel of excellent graduates.
