On the morning of April 11, 2016, the party committee and trade union of school of Marine science and engineering of Shanghai maritime university held the "academic salon of school of Marine science and engineering – Wan Zheng face to face with you". The salon invited Wan Zheng, an associate professor of school of transportation, to share experience and experience in scientific research, top journal writing and submission for the staff of our college. Chen Weijiong, secretary of the party committee of the college of ocean science and engineering, Fan Yunhua, vice President, Pan yi, director of the office of the college of ocean science and engineering, and the teaching staff of all departments attended the salon. On February 18, 2016, Wan Zheng, Zhu mo, Chen shun and professor Daniel Sperling from the school of transportation and communication of our university and the university of California, Davis published a comment paper entitled "Pollution: Three steps to a green shipping industry" in the journal Nature. This is the first time for our teachers to publish a critical article in nature as the first and corresponding author, and also the first shipping article included in nature. Once published, the article has attracted extensive attention from all circles at home and abroad. Mr. Wan Zheng in salon mentioned that the article not only involved the shipping field, but also related to the environment, chemistry and other disciplines. The article carried out interdisciplinary research on shipping pollution, and suggested that several disciplines in our institute conduct interdisciplinary research and make breakthrough research.This not only inspired the future scientific research ideas of our faculty and staff, but also expanded everyone's scientific research horizon. In addition, Wan Zheng also Shared his contribution process, which provided guidance for the staff to contribute in the future, and also inspired the teachers to contribute to top journals. In the end, Mr. Wan Zheng had a warm exchange with the faculty and staff of our college.
