Postgraduates of Class 2012 of the College of Marine Environment and Engineering visited the Engineering project of West Port Area of Yangshan Deepwater Port
Led by prof.Deng Yibing, Postgraduates of Class 2012 of the College of Marine Environment and Engineering headed for Engineering project department of West Port Area of Yangshan Deepwater Port to make an academic visit. They received warm welcome of General Manager Mr.Wang Jue and Vice Manager Mr. Wu Yuehui of Shanghai International Port Consultancy Corporation, the Supervision unit of the Engineering project of West Port Area.
Mr.Wang and Mr.Wu made an introduction to the four stages of construction and led students to the construction site. It was at the site that they explained the reclamation project, techniques of foundation stabilization, the design and construction of breakwater and bearing platform, as well as the management and implementation of the whole project. Then the v sit ended with the visit of sight-seeing platform of Yangshan Deepwater Port. Overlooking the panorama of this beautiful port, our students were amazed at this grand project, which kindled their desire to research.
Through this activity, our postgraduates’ capability of research and innovation have been improved. Their academic horizon has been broadened and their general knowledge has been enriched.
