On the afternoon of December 13, Mr. Zhu Wenwu from the Department of Marine Environment of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering gave a professional identity education lecture entitled Make the Earth Better, make the ocean Cleaner for students. Some teachers from the College of Ocean Science and Engineering and 2023 undergraduates majoring in environmental engineering attended the lecture.

Zhu Wenwu introduced global environmental issues and Marine environmental issues, focusing on global warming, climate change, Marine pollution and other environmental issues of special concern to people at present. Starting from the earth in the universe, he talked about global warming and climate change, expounded the man-made causes and serious consequences of global warming, and extended to the latest research progress of global warming, climate change, and sea level rise. In the introduction of Marine environmental problems such as oil spill, Marine nuclear pollution and Marine plastic pollution, this paper introduces the latest research progress on the diffusion of radioactive substances in the water contaminated by nuclear discharge from the Fukushima nuclear power Plant in Japan, which is a hot issue. Zhu Wenwu said that the double carbon goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality proposed by our country reflects our country's responsibility as a major country in dealing with climate change, guiding environmental students to establish a strong sense of environmental protection and social responsibility, encouraging students to not forget the original intention, keep in mind the mission, and strive to learn professional knowledge. In the future, we will contribute to the realization of the national double carbon goal and protect the earth's environment!

In the end, the students discussed and communicated with Zhu Wenwu on relevant issues and expressed that the content of the lecture was of great reference value for everyone's subsequent study and work.
